Marine Technology City & Guilds Level 2

This course is for people who have a general interest in the boatbuilding and engineering aspects of pleasure and small commercial vessels, as a foundation for the specialist engineering and boat building courses at level 3. This course covers all aspects of small marine engines maintenance and it provides a basic knowledge of the structure and organisation of the marine industry. You will spend time in our wood and fibre reinforced plastics (FRP) boatbuilding workshops, learning a range of wood based hand tool skills and modern boatbuilding techniques.

Duration: 1 year

Entry requirements: 4 GCSEs at grade D including two from Maths, English and IT or a satisfactory pass in Marine Technology and/or appropriate experience
