![]() The Winter Olympics are to be held at Whistler in February 2010. Don't miss the chance to be part of this tremendous season. Eligible for UK Armed Forces resettlement funding for service leavers. You can start the programme as a keen intermediate skier and progress to Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance qualification as a Ski Instructor Level 2. With this certificate exciting job opportunities are available worldwide. During the eight weeks of the Traineeship you will see dramatic improvement in your technical knowledge and ability on the slopes. We cover methods of detection and correction and help you to apply these to yourself as you learn the latest techniques. You start with two weeks of ski training in preparation for the Level 1 Instructor course in your third week. This is where you develop your interpersonal skills and learn the specific CSIA method for teaching beginners. The schedule continues with a further two weeks of practical and theoretical skills development leading to the Level 2 Instructor assessment in week six. The final two week period is devoted to an in-depth Recreational Avalance Course followed by the highlight of the whole programme: the Off Piste Challenge. This is a great week getting away from the crowded runs and discovering the back country. We test your Level 2 skills while introducing you to the best skiing in North America. The CSIA is a member of The International Ski Instructors' Association, making it possible for you to work with this qualification in many other countries (including Switzerland, Austria, Andorra, Germany, Czech Republic, Australia and New Zealand). If you want to work in Canada as a non-resident after an early-season course, you must arrange your work visa in advance. Use the Fish Essentials link above left for visa information. We provide multi-share, 2-star Budget accommodation with bunk rooms in Creekside, a dual-mountain lift pass which is valid six days a week, five days' guiding/instruction each week (four hours a day), video analysis, lift queue priority and equipment seminars. You can also book more comfortable, 3-star Standard accommodation at Whistler, where you stay in a twin room in Creekside. What you get
